Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, POC1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of POC1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where POC1B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types POC1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, COAD, and KICH are the cancer types where POC1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
