Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PNPLA5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 15 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PNPLA5 data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in thymoma (THYM), where higher PNPLA5 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PNPLA5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and THCA show a favorable association.

THYM, UCEC, and KIRC are the cancer types where PNPLA5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
