Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PLIN2 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PLIN2 data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher PLIN2 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PLIN2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
SKCM, LUAD, and PRAD are the cancer types where PLIN2 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
