Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PLA2G4E RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PLA2G4E’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PLA2G4E RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PLA2G4E is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, THCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where PLA2G4E tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
