Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PLA2G4C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PLA2G4C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PLA2G4C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PLA2G4C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where PLA2G4C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
