Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PLA2G12B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PLA2G12B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PLA2G12B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PLA2G12B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRP, and LUSC are the cancer types where PLA2G12B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
