Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PKM mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PKM data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher PKM mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PKM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.

LUAD, UCEC, and GBM are the cancer types where PKM mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
