Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIWIL2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 19 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PIWIL2 data layer compared with 8 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher PIWIL2 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIWIL2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and STAD show a favorable association.

HNSC, KIRP, and THCA are the cancer types where PIWIL2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
