Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIP4P2 mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PIP4P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where PIP4P2 mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PIP4P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, COAD, and OV are the cancer types where PIP4P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
