Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIP4K2C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PIP4K2C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where PIP4K2C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PIP4K2C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, HNSC, and BLCA are the cancer types where PIP4K2C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
