Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIP4K2B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PIP4K2B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where PIP4K2B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PIP4K2B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, KIRC, and HNSC are the cancer types where PIP4K2B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
