Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIK3CA RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PIK3CA data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher PIK3CA RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIK3CA expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and SKCM show a favorable association.
KIRC, ACC, and BLCA are the cancer types where PIK3CA RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.

Ranked by sampling consensus. AUC1 and AUC2 indicate survival in the high- and low-expression groups, respectively; the lower AUC marks the poorer-surviving group. p-values are from the log-rank test.
