Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIK3C2A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PIK3C2A data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 12 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher PIK3C2A mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIK3C2A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as GBM and PDAC show a favorable association.
GBM and PDAC are the cancer types where PIK3C2A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
