Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIGW Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PIGW data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher PIGW Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIGW expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
BLCA and UCEC are the cancer types where PIGW Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
