Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIGR Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PIGR data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher PIGR Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIGR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
ESCA, COAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where PIGR Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
