Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PIGN RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PIGN data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher PIGN RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PIGN expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUSC and KIRC show a favorable association.
LUSC, KIRC, and READ are the cancer types where PIGN RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
