Across TCGA patient cohorts, PHGDH protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 13,518 significant associations in total. BRCA shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible PHGDH-associated genes across cancer lineages are PSAT1, ALOX5AP, and GPT2. Each is linked with PHGDH in more than 6 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both PHGDH-to-partner and partner-to-PHGDH results are reported.
