Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PEPD mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PEPD data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher PEPD mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PEPD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and LUAD show a favorable association.
CCRCC, UCEC, and LUAD are the cancer types where PEPD mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
