Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PEMT mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PEMT data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher PEMT mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PEMT expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LSCC show a favorable association.
HNSC and LSCC are the cancer types where PEMT mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
