Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDZD8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDZD8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where PDZD8 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDZD8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, STAD, and COAD are the cancer types where PDZD8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
