Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDLIM4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDLIM4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where PDLIM4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDLIM4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where PDLIM4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
