Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDE2A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDE2A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PDE2A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDE2A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where PDE2A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
