Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDCD6IP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDCD6IP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where PDCD6IP RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDCD6IP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LIHC, and COAD are the cancer types where PDCD6IP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
