Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PDCD2L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 17 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PDCD2L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PDCD2L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PDCD2L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LUAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where PDCD2L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
