Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PCNA RNA is linked to patient survival in 29 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated PCNA data layer compared with 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher PCNA RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PCNA expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and READ show a favorable association.
MESO, ACC, and UVM are the cancer types where PCNA RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
