Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PCK2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PCK2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where PCK2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PCK2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRC, and KIRP are the cancer types where PCK2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
