Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PCDH15 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PCDH15’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where PCDH15 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PCDH15 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, KIRC, and LUSC are the cancer types where PCDH15 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
