Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PAX1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated PAX1 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PCPG), where higher PAX1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated PAX1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.
PCPG, LIHC, and SCLC are the cancer types where PAX1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
