Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PATZ1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PATZ1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where PATZ1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PATZ1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, LIHC, and BRCA are the cancer types where PATZ1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
