Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, PABPN1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of PABPN1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where PABPN1L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types PABPN1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, UCEC, and KIRC are the cancer types where PABPN1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
