Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OTOP1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OTOP1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where OTOP1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OTOP1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, HNSC, and STAD are the cancer types where OTOP1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
