Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR7M1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR7M1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where OR7M1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR7M1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, BLCA, and PAAD are the cancer types where OR7M1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
