Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR7E87P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR7E87P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR7E87P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR7E87P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and COAD are the cancer types where OR7E87P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
