Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR7E117P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR7E117P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR7E117P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR7E117P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, BRCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where OR7E117P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
