Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR6W1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR6W1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where OR6W1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR6W1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, BRCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where OR6W1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
