Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR5AK1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR5AK1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where OR5AK1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR5AK1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC are the cancer types where OR5AK1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
