Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR5A2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR5A2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where OR5A2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR5A2 is over-expressed in tumor.

THCA are the cancer types where OR5A2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
