Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR55B1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR55B1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where OR55B1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR55B1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, PRAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where OR55B1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
