Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR52X1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR52X1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where OR52X1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR52X1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, HNSC, and THCA are the cancer types where OR52X1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
