Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR51H2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR51H2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where OR51H2P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR51H2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, KIRC, and PRAD are the cancer types where OR51H2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
