OR4X2

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR4X2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR4X2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR4X2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR4X2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC are the cancer types where OR4X2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
