Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2T2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2T2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR2T2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2T2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where OR2T2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
