Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR2I1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR2I1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where OR2I1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR2I1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, COAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where OR2I1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
