Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR13C1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR13C1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where OR13C1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR13C1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH are the cancer types where OR13C1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
