Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR11G1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR11G1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where OR11G1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR11G1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, KIRP, and KIRC are the cancer types where OR11G1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
