Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OR10Y1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of OR10Y1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where OR10Y1P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types OR10Y1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, BRCA, and KICH are the cancer types where OR10Y1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
