Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, OAS1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 28 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated OAS1 data layer compared with 7 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher OAS1 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated OAS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and SKCM show a favorable association.
BLCA, SKCM, and ACC are the cancer types where OAS1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
