Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NUDT16L1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NUDT16L1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where NUDT16L1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NUDT16L1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where NUDT16L1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
