Across TCGA patient cohorts, NSMF mutation is significantly associated with the total protein of many other genes, with 32 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible NSMF-associated genes across cancer lineages are VHL, 14-3-3_beta, and eIF4E. Each is linked with NSMF in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both NSMF-to-partner and partner-to-NSMF results are reported.
