Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NSMCE4A RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated NSMCE4A data layer compared with 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher NSMCE4A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated NSMCE4A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BRCA and BLCA show a favorable association.
ACC, UVM, and BRCA are the cancer types where NSMCE4A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
